Best Places to Hide Your Weed- How to Hide Your Stash

Best places to hide your weed

If you’re a cannabis user, then it’s safe to say you have probably had to go through the process of hiding weed before, and you know this can be a tricky feat sometimes. Whether you’re looking to hide your weed at home, or even in your car, today were going to be getting into the best places to hide your weed.

Now this is not to be confused with a previous article I’ve written, How to Store Your Weed, which discusses the best ways to store your herb to get the longest life out of it. Today, were going to be getting into hiding your weed, whether that be at home from parents/friends, or in your car from parents/cops. Some of these methods of hiding weed may conflict with proper storage practices we talked about, but this guide is for those who need to worry about hiding their weed, not storing it for best use.

Tackling The Smell

While the majority of this article is going to deal with hiding spots/strategies, it’s important that we tackle one common problem that could plague many of your hiding spots, smell. The fact that weed has such a strong odor is really a double-edged sword, on one hand it makes it hard to hide and conceal, but on the other hand, as a cannabis lover, I really appreciate the smell of dank bud.

My best recommendation, which happens to be one of the cheapest ways out there, is to always have a can of ozium on hand. While some of the hiding spots I’m going to discuss will conceal the smell for you, it’s always smart to have a can of ozium just in case. For those of you who don’t know, ozium is a spray able air sanitizer that eliminates the smell of smoke and maloders. It has an insanely strong lemon smell, so once you spray this in the air, be ready to smell it for the next 30 minutes.

Hiding Your Weed at Home

Ideally, if your home, you would hope that you didn’t have to hide your weed, but there are many reasons as to why you would need to. Maybe you happen to be younger (still 18+, I don’t condone using cannabis if you’re a minor) and you have strict parents who would not be too happy to find that baggy of bud in your sock drawer. Or maybe you live alone and want a good hiding spot so your friends don’t take or smoke any of your weed. Whatever the reason may be, lets get into some of the best ways to hide your weed at home.

Decoy Containers: “Decoy Containers” as I like to call them, can be a great and simple way to hide your weed. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about here, I’m sure you’ve all seen those “soda cans” that turn out to have a bottom that can be screwed off to reveal storage. Yeah, I’m talking about those, and while it might seem silly, some of these are well-made and could actually work. You can find these all over the place in just about every smoke shop, but you can also find them online as well. These will work well in many cases because it’s very unsuspecting, after all, the best place to hide something is in plain sight! However, if you have nosier friends/parents who might be looking for your weed, then this might not be a good option, as everyone knows about these containers, and a quick inspection of it will reveal it’s not really a soda can.

Tissue Box: A really underrated, but effective place to hide weed is in a tissue box. This method is easy and simple, all you need is a tissue box with some tissues in it. All you need to do is lift up the tissues so you can put your weed underneath them, and then put the tissues back on top and you’re good to go. Even if someone goes to pull a tissue out your weed should still be safe! I’d even throw some dryer sheets in the box as well to cover up the smell a little bit!

Coffee Container: This is a classic, but it works extremely well! Coffee has an extremely overpowering scent, and can be very effective in covering up the scent of weed. Put your herb at the bottom of the can and keep it where nobody will use the coffee. Don’t put your herb in a bag for this method, as the smell and taste of coffee will seep through and ruin your herb.

Dog Food: This one is similar to the coffee method, but requires that you have a pet obviously. Dog food has a very strong scent, one that in most cases will overpower the smell of marijuana. Again, make sure you’re not keeping your weed in a plastic bag or the dog food will have the same effect that coffee does. This will work when the dog food bag/container is full, but you might need to change your spot once it starts to run out. And don’t worry, I’m sure your dog won’t mind, they would love to help you out!

Deodorant Container: Clearing out an old deodorant container can make for a great storage for your weed. Not only will it make for excellent storage, but the container will still smell like deodorant, helping to mask the smell of the weed! This will make as an unsuspecting storage spot much like the decoy can. Just throw this in your gym bag and people will just assume it’s your deodorant for the gym.

Hiding Weed In The Car

Another place it may be important to hide your weed in the car. This may not be as big of a problem for those of you living in a state where weed is legal, but for those in non-legal states it can be a nightmare. And when it comes to hiding weed in your car, especially from the cops, you can’t just hide it in the glove compartment or the center console.

The best hiding spots can depend from car to car, but almost all cars have strange panels and pieces that can be removed, and a lot of these can be used for storage, and would be hard for cops to find! I have a little piece that pops off on the passenger side’s dashboard that I’ve used several times, it works very well and to the average person would be extremely hard to find.

My other advice is to always travel light in the car. Not only do you not want to get caught with a lot of weed, but carrying it in smaller amounts will make it much easier to hide. Not to mention if you get caught with a substantial amount of weed the cops will most likely charge you with intent to sell, which could land you some serious jail time.

Things to Keep In Mind

It’s impossible for me to give foolproof hiding spots for every ones personal situation, but hopefully some of these ideas can help you guys out! The most important thing is to just be aware of what kind of hiding spot you need, and to be creative. Sometimes all you need is a simple decoy can, but sometimes a more effective hiding spot can be necessary, so just be aware of what you need for your situation. And be creative, you’d be surprised at how many things you might have around your house that could make for great hiding spots for your weed!
