Best Portable Vaporizers Under $150-Best Budget Vapes in 2019
With weed rapidly becoming legal in more and more places, vaporizers are as popular as ever! However, you have no idea how often I hear this, or at least something along these lines: “I would love to pick up vaporizing, I just don’t want to pay all that money for a vaporizer.” Does that sound like you? If so, this is the perfect place for you, as today were going to be taking a look at the best portable vaporizers under $150. While you may not get all the fancy bells and whistles like a companion app, these vapes are all solid budget vapes that perform similar to the top tier vapes on the market. Be sure to check out my list of the best portable vaporizers of 2019 if you’re looking to see how I rank ALL vapes, this list will be a collection of vapes in the 150$ range or lower.
Before we jump right into this, allow me to highlight just a few ways that a vape could make your life better!
You’ll Save Money: I know this might sound crazy since you actually have to buy the vaporizer, but I’m serious about this one, you WILL save money in the long run. Using a vape doesn’t combust your herbs into ash after three lights, instead its heated before the point of combustion so that essential compounds can then be vaped, which actually gives you more hits out of your weed. Not only that, you can use ABV weed (click if you’re unsure of what ABV weed is!) to your advantage as well to make edibles or smoke it if you’d like.
It’s healthier: Despite popular belief, us stoners actually do care about our health, which is one of the main reasons people switch to vapes. Vaping is essentially smoke free, as well as free of all of the harmful carcinogens that go with smoking, making it much easier on your lungs. This is especially important for those looking to perform athletically. And I don’t just mean professional athletes, even if you’re someone who just likes to go out for a run every once in a while, vaping will make your lungs much healthier and ready to perform.
It’s convenient: The convenience of using a portable vaporizer is fantastic, a lot of times it’s the reason I vape instead of rolling up. With a vaporizer you don’t have to worry about carrying around a lighter, bowl, papers, you don’t even need to carry weed if you don’t want to. Just pre load your vaporizer and you’re ready to light up anywhere on the go.
Enough chit-chat now, lets get right into the best portable vaporizers under $150!
Cloud Pen 3.0
Compatibility: Dry Herb/Concentrates
To start off this list we’ll be taking a look at the Cloud Pen 3.0 vape pen. This stylish pen should certainly meet any portability standard you might have, it’s sleek and slim and easy to fit in any pocket or bag you might have. However, I will say that this pen has a very glossy like finish to it, so if you drop it it’s going to get scratched up a little bit, it shouldn’t impact performance though.
The Cloud Pen has a 650 mAh battery, which isn’t exactly the best, but it’s expected from such a small device. Typically, this battery should last you about half a day with moderate to heavy use, if you’re not a heavy user you can probably stretch one full charge for the whole day. The Cloud Pen will let you know when the battery is getting low, at 10% a red light will show up. Charging time will take around 30 minutes to an hour, and unfortunately this device can not be used while charging.
My favorite thing about the Cloud Pen is the option of atomizers you get. Keep in mind this vape can use dry herbs and concentrates, each needing different atomizers. However, this device has 2 concentrates atomizer, so you get to choose which one is best for you. There is a ceramic rod atomizer, best for smooth and flavorful hits, then there’s the dual coil atomizer which is great for big clouds and heavy hits! The dry herb experience on this vape is definitely not up to par with the concentrates experience, but it’s still cool that you have the option to use dry herbs if you want. To clarify the vape has no problem vaping dry herbs, it’s just such a small oven I’ve just never personally gotten the same enjoyment I normally would from other dry herb vapes.

Boundless CFC 2.0
Compatibility: Dry Herb
The big brother of the Boundless CFC, the 2.0 made some great improvements! Both vapes come in at $89.99, so both are great options, but I think the 2.0 has a slight edge (as it should). The 2.0 is slightly bigger and heavier, making for a better build quality and feel overall. The first Boundless CFC also had some slight design flaws, some users experienced their device getting overheated and even cracking at the mouthpiece. That has been improved upon greatly in the 2.0, which has a completely different shape to it!
The battery life in the 2.0 is fairly good, you should have enough battery for a full day of vaping with one charge. Charging takes a while, around 2-3 hours, and it’s recommended that you don’t use during charging, so you really have to plan ahead with this one!
Temperature ranges from 140-446°F , the low temps are good for maximixing flavor, while the higher temperatures can produce some pretty nice clouds! Heat up time is also quick, at around 30 seconds. There is a nice little LED screen on the front, showing you the exact temperature along with your battery life. The oven capacity is quite nice, you should be able to fit .3 grams in comfortably, anything over that you might run into some heavier draw resistance.
Every CFC 2.0 also comes with a water pipe adapter should you ever want to put a water attachment on, which would make the hits even smoother!

Puri5 Aviator 3
Compatibility: Dry Herbs and Concentrates
Moving on to the Puri5 Aviator 3, we have another vape that can use both dry herbs and concentrates. This vape comes in 2 stylish colors, black or silver, and has a nice feeling matte finish to it. The device is very small and compact, the picture makes it look bigger than it is, you should have no problems bringing this vape on the go. Durability is great as well, it’s a compact little device, the only thing I’d worry about breaking if I dropped this vape is the mouth piece, as it’s made out of glass. However, the mouthpiece is removable if that is something that worries you!
I’ve got no complaints as far as battery life either, I have no problem lasting the whole day on one charge (heavy use). There is a little LED screen that displays the battery life so you’ll no exactly how much battery you have at all times. Charging takes around an hour, this device can be used while charging however.
The Aviator 3 has 8 preset temperatures, ranging from 320-450°F. to change the temperature, all you do is hold the button on the side until you see the temperature change on the screen. There’s only one button on the device, so it’s fairly easy to work, to turn it on you just press the button 5 times and the device will then begin to heat up.
Heating takes around 30 seconds, the device has haptic feedback, so it will vibrate once it reaches the desired temperature as well as once the session timer ends. The Aviator 3 has a large chamber for herbs, you can fit .5 grams in it pretty easily. To use concentrates, all you need to do is put the concentrates cup that comes with the device into the oven after loading it and you’re good to begin vaping.
The Aviator 3 also is compatible with a no-spill water bubbler attachment made by Puri5 which is a fantastic addition to this vape. If you want to check out the Aviator 3, fell free to do so at Puri5’s Official Website! And if you’d like to know more about the Aviator 3, check out my full review.
Arizer Solo Vaporizer
Compatibility: Dry Herb
Arizer is certainly is no stranger to the vape world, and even though the Solo came out some time ago, it’s still one of the best portable vaporizers under $150. The Solo comes in two colors, black or grey, and is a great size for a portable vape. It’s not too small as to where the oven size will suffer, but it also will fit comfortably in any pocket or bag making it great on the go. This vape is made out of a nice feeling stainless steel material, it should be able to survive minor drops and scoffs easily. However, the two mouthpieces that come with the solo are both glass, so if you drop the device with the mouthpiece in there’s a good chance the mouthpiece will break.
Battery life on the Solo is pretty average, however the newer units allow pass through charging, so you can vape while it’s charging. If you have an older Solo, you may not be able to use while charging, but if you’re looking to buy one new it will have pass through charging.
Taste and vapor quality are great with the Solo, it’s one of the things that make this vape a timeless classic. The all glass stem and glass vapor path make for great taste, and on the higher heat setting you can blow some pretty nice clouds as well!
There are 7 temperature settings, ranging from 122-410°F, and to change it all you do is hit the arrow buttons on the front of the device. You’ll be able to tell exactly what temperature you’re on by the little light indicator next to each of the temperatures. There is a 12-minute session timer as well, after 12 minutes the device will turn off to save battery life. If you’re in the middle of a sesh you can just turn it back on, and then just hold the down arrow and it will go to our most recent temperature. Cleaning the Solo is very straightforward, make sure the oven is clear of any herb and then just wipe the oven down and your’re all good!

Compatibility: Dry Herb
Moving on to the Miqro now, this is the newest vaporizer from the popular vape company Davinci, which just came out in July 2018. This is great because the Miqro still falls into out budget vape category, but it’s also very new so you’re going to get to experience a lot of new features that aren’t in many other vapes. The Miqro is extremely portable, almost so portable it’s easy to lose, it’s like putting a lighter into your pocket, that’s how small it is! So if you’re looking for a vape you can be extremely discrete with, the Miqro is going to be perfect for you.
The Miqro uses a 900mAh battery, which is about average, however you can purchase extra batteries which is a life saver. If you’re someone who vapes a lot, having an extra battery for this thing is a must! Having two batteries will give you easily enough battery for an entire day of vaping, and the good thing is extra batteries are only $10!
Taking a look at some cooler features, the Miqro has a ceramic zirconium vapor path, which is an extremely heat-resistant material that will ensure your essential compounds are maintained all the way up to the mouthpiece. This makes for very smooth hits, as well as an excellent flavor you won’t find in many other vapes in this price range.
The Miqro has a very interesting temperature system, they use “smart path technology”. Basically, there are 4 smart path settings which each have a temperature range of 20 degrees. For example, smart path 1 is 350-370F, smart path 2 is 370-390F, and so on all the way up to smart path 4. The Miqro has a 5-minute session timer, so if you start on smart path 2, the device will begin the session at 370F and as the session continues the device will slowly creep it’s way up to 390F, the max temp of the smart path! Therefore, you must choose your path based on what you’re trying to get out of it, if you want more flavor, go with the lower smart paths, and if you want big clouds, use the higher smart paths. The Miqro also features a “boost mode” setting in which it cranks up the temperature and is perfect for getting off quick hits, this setting is great if you’re with a group of people!
Cleaning and maintaining the Miqro is easy, the mouthpiece and vapor path are very easy to take apart and clean, I’d suggest cleaning your device fully at least one a week to maintain top functionality. One other thing I’d like to add is that there is also a great selection of colors with the Miqro, it’s one of the best looking vapes on the market in my opinion. It’s so sleek and smooth and although the design is simple it just looks amazing!

G Pen Pro
Compatibility: Dry Herb
Made by the Los Angeles based company Greco, the G Pen Pro is a great option that even happens to be under $100. The Pro is slim and compact, making it easy to take with you anywhere. The G Pen Pro isn’t the most durable vape on this list, the body is made of plastic and the mouthpiece can break fairly easily if dropped. So if you’re going on an intense hike or a bike ride through the hills, this might not be the vape to take on the trip.
The battery will give you around 30-45 minutes of use per charge, and charging time can take anywhere from 2-3 hours. There’s no learning curve at all with this vape, everything is made extremely easy for the user. There is only one button, to turn the device on you hit it 5 times, then the device will begin to heat up. Heat up time takes around 30 seconds, and switching the temperature is as easy as holding the button until the light on the front changes colors.
The G Pen Pro has 3 preset temperatures, and is indicated by either a red, blue or green light. Blue is 375F, green is 400F and red is the highest temperature at 428F. Blue will give you the best taste out of your bud, while green and red will have you blowing some decent sized clouds.
Maintaining the G Pen Pro is easy, you just need to be sure to clean off the mouthpiece and herb chamber a couple times a week, depending on how frequently you use it.
