INHALCO Toker e-Straw Review- Best Electric Nectar Collector?
INHALCO is one of todays most underrated retailers of cannabis accessories, and they just so happen to make some great products in-house as well!
While today's post is going to be about IHALCO's e-straw nectar collector, I want to take a second to highlight all the cool things INHALCO offers.
Not only does INHALCO make vaporizers, they dabble in glass as well, carrying just about every type of glass smoke ware. They have some nice heady pieces as well as some great scientific glass as well. They make some more portable glass as well such as hand pipes, one-hitters and glass blunts.
INHALCO has a great line of vaporizers as well. They make and carry dry herb vapes, concentrate vapes and nectar collectors, as well as e-nail kits.
Fell free to check out INHALCO's main website if you'd like to see all their products for yourself! In the meantime, lets get right into this review of the INHALCO Toker E-Straw.
What is INHALCO's Toker e-Straw?
For those of you that aren't sure what a Nectar Collector is, it's basically a mini dab rig that can fit inside your pocket. In my opinion, a nectar collector is the most effective handheld smoking device if you're looking to get the most faded!
This isn't a vaporizer, your dabs get fully combusted by high temperatures, just as they would if you were taking it out of an actual rig.
The ceramic tip on the end of the device heats up to an incredibly high temperature, after which you apply the tip of the device directly to your concentrates and inhale. You may not think this could be too effective, but after you blow out that cloud of smoke you'll realize this thing is the real deal!
And without the expenses of a dab rig, butane and torch, electric nectar collectors may become much more popular in the coming years.
What You Get w INHALCO's Nectar Collector
INHALCO's e-Straw nectar collector comes with everything you need to use this thing right out of the box, it comes fully put together as well.
It even comes with a charge as well, it's recommend in the instructions to charge it fully before your first use, but I went ahead and used it anyways because I'm impatient.
Other accessories you'll see inside the box include:
- 1 Cleaning brush
- USB charging cable
- 5 q-tip cleaning swabs
The one accessory I was really hoping to see In here was an extra atomizer. You only get the one already on the device when you purchase, after which you have to go back to INHALCO's Website to Purchase more.
You'll go through the cleaning swabs very quickly as well, but you can just use q-tips with the ends ripped off afterwards, that's all the cleaning swabs that come with this are basically.
How To Use INHALCO's Toker e-Straw
I already sort of alluded to how this device is used up a bit further, but now I'll get into device specifics. This electric nectar collector works a bit differently from a lot of the others I've previously used.
To start off, take the protective metal cap off the device, this will reveal the ceramic tip thats going to be what burns your concentrates.
Then, press the button 5 times and then you'll see the light flash blue, indicating that the device is on.
After this you hold the button until it lights up blue and vibrates, then wait until the light stops flashing blue and the device vibrates again, then apply the ceramic tip to your concentrates and enjoy!
This device only has one temperature setting, but I will say that it is very effective and I haven't had any temperature issues so far. After the device heats up it stays hot for about 30 seconds while you take your dab, then it automatically shuts off.
You want to wait for around a minute before you go to heat the device up again. This is to prevent it from overheating. If you heat up your device multiple times consecutively and see the light blink red 5 times, let it cool down, it's too hot.
Now that you know how to set up and actually use the device, let's talk about the user experience and just how good of a session you can have. To really break down the user experience on this thing, I'm going to break it down into components that I feel are most important. Those components are smoke quality (How is the smoothness, taste, and can this thing take monster rips?), Shareability (Does it work well in groups?) and build quality (How durable is it/is it portable?)
Smoke Quality- This is a very smooth hitting device I've found, most people don't even realize they've inhaled anything until they blow out a massive cloud. No hot feeling in your throat.
Taste is best when the ceramic tip is fresh, after it slowly declines. This device uses all metal airways, which provides inferior taste compared to glass airways.
Overall I like the smoke quality, I'm not really that concerned with taste when I'm using a nectar collector anyways.
Share-ability- Unfortunately, and this is one of the biggest downsides of this device, is that it's not really group friendly. Like I mentioned earlier the battery runs out pretty quickly, so if you're with a group of 4 or 5 people you can blow through a full charge in no time. Also you have to wait 1 minute in between heat ups or you run the risk of overheating/short circuiting the device.
This is great when you're by yourself, but if you're looking for something more group friendly consider something else.
Build Quality- When it comes to build quality, this is the best electric nectar collector I've used. It's very durable and it has an extremely efficient design, it's got a healthy weight to it when you pick it up, I did not expect that.
I believe the body is made out of aluminum, so that explains it, most electric nectar collectors have plastic bodies so this feels nice. Will get freezing cold in the car as well in the winter. It still works though, you might have to heat it up a few times to get it really hitting though.
The great thing about electric nectar collectors is that they're almost always super easy to both clean and maintain. This device is no different, this device requires minimal effort to clean and maintain.
As you've seen earlier, this device comes with everything you need to keep it clean, and using these tools is very easy as well. All parts exposed to the airflow path are removable, making them easy to take out and individually clean.
As you can see in the above picture the airflow path comes directly out of the device for easy cleaning. The hole is the perfect size to be cleaned with the brush and the q-tip swabs. You can even soak the removable parts in iso alcohol if they ever get too gunked up.
In terms of keeping the ceramic tip clean, burning off excess concentrates is the best way to do that, you should be trying to clean or brush the ceramic tip, especially while the device is on. After the ceramic tip starts to deteriorate in quality after some time, it will be necessary to purchase replacements.
You can do this fairly easily and cheaply right online at INHALCO's website. Replacement atomizers for this device cost about the same as replacement coils from similar devices. One atomizer usually lasts me about a month of heavy use. Yours might last longer or shorter than that depending on your usage.
Like I mentioned earlier, this device does carry a charge straight out of the box, however the instructions recommend you charge it fully before you fire it up for the first time.
To get a full charge from a dead battery will take around 1.5-2 hours, which is pretty standard for most devices like this. It's charged with a micro USB cable, and comes equipped with one.
The battery inside this is 900mAH, which INHALCO boasts last longer up to 8X more uses than previous models. I'm not sure if I believe that, either that or my device has a faulty battery.
With that being sad, battery life is one of my biggest concerns with this device. I usually get between 8-10 uses per battery life, which is very low compared to other electric nectar collectors I've used.
If you plan on taking this thing out for a day trip, do not forget the charger, that's all I ave to say!!
I think that the industry still has a long way to go with electric nectar collectors. Every one that I've tried has it's strong points and some are definitely better than others, but none have quite hit the spot just right for me yet.
However, this is most definitely one of the best electric nectar collectors of 2021, if not the best. I don't really have an official ranking system for the ones I've used, however if thats something you guys are interested leave a comment down below and I'd be happy to work on it.
For under $100 this is a great device to have, especially if you're really into concentrates. This is hands down better than any vapes or any other portable smoking devices for dabs, so if thats what you're looking for getting one of these is a no-brainer. Still not better than using a real glass rig though, so if you're thinking about this as an easy/cheap replacement to real glass you may end up disappointed.
Thank you so much to those of you who read all the way down to the end! I hope you enjoyed and that you got all the information you needed on the INHALCO e-straw nectar collector.
